This subseries contains numerous folders, the vast majority compiled by Goldman, pertaining to areas of research interest. There is a particular emphasis on Soviet and post-Soviet economics, as well as a later (circa 2000) focus on the Russian energy industry, connected to his 2008 book, Petrostate. For materials that had not been foldered by Goldman himself, new folders were created.
